This is Kathy Biehl of EmpowermentUnlimited.net with Astro-Insight for the week of December 19th, 2022. We’re in the thick of the holidays now, and as the calendar hurdles us toward a couple of big celebrations, you may find that you face choices about how you’re spending your time, who you’re spending time with, and what you allow yourself to think and talk about. The emphasis continues to grow this week on what is happening down here on the earth and where you are going, on long-term plans, on durability, on substance and value. Venus and Mercury are already in the sign of Capricorn. This week brings the December solstice on the 21st when the Sun joins those two planets in the sign of Capricorn. In theory, that’s pretty serious, somber, grownup, focusing on what things cost and where they’re getting us, focusing on goals and project managing life, and yet there is a decided firing us and enthusiasm firing all week because Jupiter, the most expansive and beneficent influence in the sky,
You can think of him as Santa Claus if you want, moves back into Aries on the 20th, igniting a go get ’em spunk in all of us, a desire to take chances to be bold, to just do things without thinking them through and making Excel spreadsheets. We got a taste of this when he was in Aries from May 10th till the end of October. You might find some feistiness coming back online that you experienced in the middle of May, and he stays in Aries until the middle of May 2023. He kickstarts the Capricorn season by squaring the Sun and adding a noticeable oomph to all of the projects and goals and step-by-step approaches to living that we’re moving into here. And he also injects a tremendous amount of energy and enthusiasm, and “let’s just get things in motion” to the seriousness of all that Capricorn, keeping the holiday season lively and not having us all turn into work-oriented party poopers. This high energy, self-starting vibe permeates the entire season since it’s in place at the Solstice, and it definitely defines
The Capricorn new Moon, which happens on the 23rd. Even as we’re celebrating Hanukkah, even as we’re celebrating Christmas, even as we’re making preparations for Kwanzaa, there is an excitement in us for what we’re going to be capable of doing, an enthusiasm for what we’re going to be working on and launching. All of the Capricorn energy in the sky will likely keep us from just running off and starting stuff very, very quickly and ignoring everything else that we have going, i.e., celebrations, dealing with people in our lives, having a good time for a little bit. But the flip side of this is the Capricorn energy will likely keep all of the go get ’em gumption, daring brazenness of Jupiter moving into Aries, going throughout not just the next moon cycle, but the whole season. Look at it as a gift from the skies inviting you to dream outlandishly big and take risks and chances that you probably wouldn’t have before.
Why not? Why not? Why not? Reach, strive, dream, envision? Go for something wild and exuberant and extravagant that you want to work on and create in your life and know that all the Capricorn energies in the sky will keep you grounded and focused on step by step by step. What is manageable? What is doable? What’s your goal? What has long-term value for you? And you may get a very unexpected bit of insight into that as we go from the solstice to the New Moon when on the 22nd, Venus, which rules our social mode and also what we value, trines Uranus, Venus in Capricorn wanting long-term stability, something of value that can be taken to the bank and relied on — this is what I always call “Santa, Baby” mode — in an easy collaboration with awakening, liberating, quick change, artist Uranus. You might get a sudden inspiration, a sudden epiphany — I think epiphanies by their nature are sudden — breakthrough in a creative project, breakthrough in a financial situation, breakthrough in a desire, or in a formulation of a desire or in a formulation of a desired goal. As this is all going
On, there’s a tiny bit of something pulling at the hem of your skirt or your pants saying, “Hey, hey, hey, I’m here. Look at me. Look at me. Look at me.” As Mercury is in an uncomfortable semi-sextile with Saturn, you might be nudged to answer for your words or a message or a line of thinking. You might be nudged to step up and be mature about what you’ve been thinking or perhaps not thinking, or perhaps avoiding or perhaps not communicating. You will find if you actually face the nudge, even if you’re wrapping presents when it shows up, you can dispatch it and get it out of the way so it doesn’t continue to tug at you as the weekend goes on. All in all, this is an astonishingly productive week and also exciting week and liberating week as if you’re coming back online and have the drive and the desire and the gumption and the vision to go after some goals that have great, tangible, practical meaning for you.
Oh, and also to be around people who have meaning for you.
Homing Thought of the Week:, often attributed to Goethe; could be that it was mistranslated, regardless: Whatever you can do or dream, you can begin it.
The Song of the Week is Fight Song by Rachel Platten, and
The Image of the Week is running shoes.
